Branch History

A group of interested cake decorators met with a view to forming a club on the 20th of November 1984. We have continued to meet since then. Four inaugural members are still attending, they are Lorna Thompson, Pat Jones, June Jones and Christine Heness. The first displays of workmanship to promote our art were held at the Attamurra Cottage and in Young’s the Man’s shop window. We have also displayed our skills at the Lakes Plaza Shopping Centre and the local Mount Gambier A & H Society Show.

The South Eastern Cake Decorators (SECD) have been a branch of the Cake Decorators Association of South Australia (CDASA) since 1992.

Meeting Format

SECD meets on the third Monday of each month, in the Coffee Room of the St Andrews Uniting Church. The meeting entry fee is only $2.00 and visitors are most welcome. Meetings consist of general business, supper plus an opportunity to learn more skills in a friendly environment during a demonstration time. An Annual Workshop is held at the same venue this allows for the development of skills through demonstrations from visiting guest demonstrators drawn from all over Australia.
